The best recommendation for our cattle comes from our repeat buyers. They come back every year, so let´s hear what they say.
Stewart & Anna Weir – Sandover Pastoral Company, NT
We use predominantly Santa Gertrudis cattle at Sandover Pastoral Company and as bullock producers they are suitable for the Vietnam heavy trade and are accepted into any Australian domestic market. Being a big pastoral country we never achieve a 100% muster so therefore the bullocks we miss lay down meat and an acceptable amount of fat for the meatworks. Gyranda Bulls have proven doing ability in tough conditions and are guaranteed calf getters. They are survivors. Their temperament is excellent and we now have strong poll genes in our herd.
Mark Larkham – Cattle Breeder, Rathdowney Qld
“I got the tip on how Burnett at Gyranda went about his business and the heavy emphasis he puts on selection criteria and intensive performance recording.
As a consequence we made Gyranda bull selections, and to ensure fertility we chose to base our stud breeding herd predominately on Gyranda bloodlines. The longer I spend in the industry the more I realise the value of our relationship with Gyranda. Not only from the willing advice and personal support from Burnett, but as our third crop of Gyranda influenced calves approaches, it is clear we are breeding functional cattle, ‘going on’ in real world conditions, and the level of performance recording now allows us the tools to continue with informed genetic decisions.”
Trevor Watson – (Eskdale South)
“Gyranda Santa Gertrudis bulls are very tough with good doing ability and are excellent calf producers in the spear grass country of the Brisbane Valley. Their calves have a very good growth rate and a great temperament which means so much to us. It is good to know that we can go to Gyranda and purchase bulls year after year with the confidence that they are going to do the job producing us with top quality weaners.”
John Bertram – (Principal Extension Officer QDPI & F)
“Their operation is a highly progressive business: at the forefront of the industry in exploring new technologies to measure, record and improve their genetics. At the bottom line, what they are improving, is their profitability and, in turn, the profitability of those who buy their genetics.”
Professor Michael McGowan – (Prof of Veterinary Sciences at University of Queensland)
“I don´t know of any other stud that offers a large team of bulls with all bulls having a high live normal semen morphology result. You can´t do better than that! The bulls have been prepared on fodder crop and leucaena. They are a very even draft ready to go to work without the need to be “let down”.
Jack, Bev, Gavin & Glen Spurdle – Ravenswood, Nth Queensland
“We live in very marginal coastal country. We found that the Gyranda Bulls handle these marginal conditions better. They have very good temperament and are easy to handle. We join them with droughtmaster cross brahman cows to get weight into the progeny.”
Donald Joyce, “Balcarris” – Taroom
“I´ve been using Gyranda bulls for my commercial breeding and fattening operation for over 40 years. They are as good as I can get anywhere, are reasonably priced, and have always been a good investment”
Nigel and Toni Sharp – Tenterfield, NSW.
“When we started our stud, we approached Burnett and Louise about purchasing stud females, because of the reputation the X3X cattle have throughout Australia. They have a great constitution and do well wherever they go. They really suit the Tenterfield region. We wanted Gyranda females to be one of the building blocks of our stud.”
